Suelas

I love me a pair of fasyon sky-high heels, but I commute and walk around every day. It's like oil and water but the solution is simple: wear closed-toe flats. Between looking 5-foot-3-inches and getting things done, I would certainly take the former if my monthly lifestyle support did not depend on the latter. I had two pairs of flats - one in black, another in metallic violet. I trusted these two to give my feet some amount of decent fashion while keeping me comfortable; but of course, they failed.

The black one gave me blisters from hell, the scars of which are still visible on my poor feet. The violet I had to put up with because I had no choice. I don't scour department stores and shoe boutiques that much, so forgive me if I have to say there is no decent pair of flats in the country - or at least in places I have been. There's always something wrong in the few pairs I have encountered - doesn't show toe cleavage, made of cardboard, easily stains, or just downright ugly.

I swear when I saw this blue and gold-tipped pair from Style Bible, I had a "Eureka!" moment, hundreds of angels sang, and there was light.

I turned to Google to order the love of my life from Suelas. It took several attempts at zooming in to examine the material, the cut, the fit and numerous testimonials to get me convinced. Hey, it's online shopping for shoes, you have to be extra careful. I got the gray Puntera first so it's safe for work and well, it blends in with my new "neutralized" or Chuvaness-ed wardrobe. The blue, I am saving all my love for you.

I wore the fashion torture that was my violet flats on the day I was to receive my first pair from Suelas. I literally ran from work to the MRT to get home and damn, when I put the shoes on, it was cashmere on my feet. Of course I noticed the difference - my current flats were skinning my feet away!

Suelas' pair is made of really soft leather, as well as the lining. The anti-skid swelas is sewn on the shoe for durability. I also love the cut which shows just the right amount of toe cleavage (although it's supposed to be two, at most, I don't care - I like my shoes low). I am proud to report there have been no blisters and tormenting friction since the switch. "Flatten it, fold it, roll it" - and don't forget to wear it!
