You and iVolunteer

One of my summer (or maybe even long time, I hope) goals is to volunteer for a cause I feel passionately about. If you haven't already noticed the first post in this blog, I am an advocate of living better and wiser for the environment. Now I know my habit of staying up late with appliances plugged in isn't exactly role model type for this kind of advocacy I told you, but I do try to alleviate in several small ways my impact on the Earth.

The September 2009 tragedy that was Ondoy motivated thousands of Filipinos to reach out and help others. While I stayed inside with my family, we did dig through our closets for things we thought and hoped could help the others who needed them more than we. And no, we did not give away corseted satin gowns because as these may be help to some, it's an insult for most. I am also proud of my friends who braved the traffic and the flooded streets just to help out.

iVolunteer Philippines currently has partnerships with several organizations advocating different causes. If you're interested, click on this link and help make the world a better place of sunshine and a good amount of drizzle on the side.
